Job Title: Mainframe System Engineer (+7 years of experience)

Location: Brussels (1 days a week), 4 days home office

Job Type: Freelance - Full-Time

Duration: Long term - 12 months+

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain mainframe applications in IMS and DB2, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Configure, and upgrade z/OS applications: IMS, DB2, TWS and related software.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and performance.
• Manage Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) for job scheduling and automation.
• Administer and maintain DB2 databases, including model changes, spufi’s, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system enhancements and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Mainframe System Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of z/OS operating systems, TWS, and DB2.
• Strong knowledge of REXX/ISPF
• Proficiency in system performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• EN language is required
